Shoppable Instagram Product Tags

Shoppable Instagram product tags

Instagram news, they have rolled out product tags.

With the new shoppable product tags, you will now be able to shop on Instagram.

This gives you another Instagram selling tool you can use to drive revenue from your Instagram marketing efforts.

Here is a short video that shows you how the new Instagram product tags will work.

Jack Threads from Instagram for Business on Vimeo.

Instagram had this to say about the new Instagram product tags.

“Each post will have a tap to view icon at the bottom left of a photo. When tapped, a tag will appear on various products in the post—showcasing up to five products and their prices. Once a tag is selected a new detailed view of the product will open. This functionality will bring important product information to the consumer earlier in the journey, all without having to leave the Instagram app to search. Then, if the consumer taps the Shop Now link from the product details view, they’ll go directly to that product on the business’ website, making it easier for them to buy the product they want.”

If you need additional tips on how to market and sell your products,
here are some suggestions.

Why Shopping with Instagram Product Tags Matters

With Instagram’s new product tags, you will be able to seamlessly sell products, goods and services from Instagram.

As a business owner, this gives you another outlet to sell things to your customers.

With a new channel to generate revenue for your business, be sure the images you post look professional and help your products look their best.

Facebook Live Digital Masks

This week, Facebook started rolling out Facebook Live video masks.

This is a feature we discussed last week as they rolled out these Halloween masks.

Facebook Live Video masks

The new Facebook Live digital masks plan to superimpose photo and video filters.

This is similar to what Snapchat offers.

Why Facebook Live Video Digital Masks Matter

We’re particularly excited about Facebook Live.

They will be especially useful for people using them on their Facebook Profile to give their live videos more creativity.

As a business, we love the idea of a business using Facebook Live Video digital masks to step outside of their brand and give customers better insight on the owner and employees they are engaging with.

Manage Instagram From Facebook Pages

Also this week, we spotted the ability to manage Instagram from your Facebook Page.

Manage Instagram from Facebook Pages

With this new feature, which you see from your Instagram app (iOS | Android), you will be able to do the following from your Facebook Page.

  • Create Instagram Ads
  • Edit account details
  • Reply to comments from your Facebook Page

Why Managing Instagram From A Facebook Page Matters

It can be frustrating to have to do everything on Instagram from your mobile app.

By adding in the ability to manage Instagram from your Facebook Page, you can work on your Instagram account when you’re doing work on your desktop/laptop.

This can help you quickly complete tasks and manage them while you’re doing work for your business on Facebook.

Improve Twitter Customer Service with Quick Replies and Welcome Messages

This week, Twitter announced new customer service features called “quick replies” and “welcome messages.”

What are Twitter quick replies?

Twitter quick replies “let businesses prompt people with the best ways to reply to a Direct Message, whether by choosing from a list of options or guiding users to enter specific text values.”

What are Twitter welcome messages?

Twitter welcome messages “let businesses greet people and set expectations as they enter a Direct Message conversation—without requiring people to send the first message. Businesses can create multiple welcome messages and deep link directly to a specific greeting from Tweets, websites, or apps. Welcome messages help businesses demonstrate their commitment to service and help people learn what options exist to engage with a business in Direct Messages.”

According to Twitter, “these features are designed to help businesses create rich, responsive, full-service experiences that directly advance the work of customer service teams and open up new possibilities for how people engage with businesses on Twitter.”

When you use them together, businesses can reduce wait times for customers.

For example, a business could setup a Twitter welcome message to provide a message and quick links to assist customers - this is before your business even see’s the first message.

Here is a short video on how quick replies and welcome messages work in Twitter Direct Messages.

Why Quick Replies and Welcome Messages Matter In Twitter Direct Messages

Twitter quick replies and welcome messages can significantly help reduce the amount of time between a customer getting an issue resolved.

At the same time, these new Twitter customer service tools can help your business better streamline responses to customers.

As we mentioned, you can also use these tools to help customers before you even get to their issue by directing them to an FAQ’s page or support page for common issues or questions your business gets.

Hootsuite Launches Enhance, A Photo Editing App

Hootsuite Enhance - iOS

Also this week, Hootsuite rolled out a new photo app.

Their app is called Enhance.

Hootsuite Enhance is a mobile app to help you create compelling images that are perfect for sharing across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and more.

We’ve spent some time testing out Enhance and it is a fast and efficient app for creating images for your social media channels or even for your blog posts.

Not only can you edit photos, but you can also add overlay a watermark such as your logo, add text or apply shapes or social media icons to your images.

Another feature we found very useful with Hootsuite’s Enhance app is that they also give you access to Pixability.

Pixability is a stock photo app. This way if you want to create images and don’t have a photo, you can access royalty free images from the Enhance app.

Why Hootsuite’s Enhance App Matters

Enhance can help save your business time when creating images for your social media channels, blogs and more.

While there are other alternatives such as Buffer’s Pablo, it is only available on the desktop.

Hootsuite Enhance is strictly a mobile-only application.

This will let quickly work on-the-go from anywhere!

You can download Hootsuite enhance for free here.

LinkedIn Retires Slideshare Lead Generation

In LinkedIn news, they have officially retired the Slideshare Lead Generation, which was designed to provide an easy-to-use system to capture leads through content, did not sufficiently meet the needs of our customers and our members.”

This is the approach that they plan to take moving forward.

“We are streamlining our portfolio across the broader suite of LinkedIn Marketing Solutions products.

Why LinkedIn Retiring Slideshare Lead Generation Matters

With Microsoft’s acquisition of LinkedIn, the decision to retire Slideshare’s lead generation tool makes sense.

It is time to consolidate the two products and encourage users to utilize LinkedIn’s powerful marketing solutions, especially considering that most people are utilizing LinkedIn not just to post a resume and to connect with work colleagues, but also to generate leads for their business.

According to LinkedIn, “starting December 1, you will no longer be able to collect leads through your SlideShare campaigns or create new campaigns. This change doesn't impact leads you’ve already generated, and any content that you have uploaded to SlideShare will still be your SlideShare account.”

In addition to sharing the latest in social media news from this past week, we also highlighted some great tools and apps to check out.

Findo - iOS

Findo is an app if you use Evernote, Dropbox, Google Drive and so on to store your files.

Often, when you have files in so many different places, it can be hard to keep track of them.

Luckily, Findo can help you find them.

What Findo is is it’s a “smart search assistant” across your emails, files, images, notes, files on your laptop, etc.

Instead of wasting time searching for a document or image, you can quickly perform a search from your mobile device and locate it.

This way you’re not wasting time hunting for the files you need.
