Facebook Work Group Types

In Facebook news, they are rolling out Facebook work group types.

If you run a Facebook Group, at your company, you can more easily connect with coworkers.

With Facebook work group types, you can collaborate with your coworkers and only show work-related information such as your job title, company and location. You'll still be able to message one another without needing to be friends.

How To Use Facebook Work Group Types

  1. Go to your Facebook Group
  2. Click on the … more option
  3. Click on "edit group settings"
  4. Change your Facebook Group type to "work"

In order to change your group type to a Work Group, you'll need to be an admin of the group. You can also switch back to other Facebook Group types at any time.

Group members can choose to disable the messaging option from the Group Settings menu.

You can access Facebook work group types via desktop, iOS and Android.

Often times, people are hesitant to allow their coworkers (or boss) to connect with them on Facebook.
