Social Chatter: Social Media Marketing Talk Show - Episode 273 A Facebook Page Redesign For 2021 Facebook announced a Facebook Page redesign, in order to improve the overall experience. With the new Facebook Page redesign, there is quite a lot that will be changing over the coming months on your Page. Here is a look at changes happening because of the Page redesign. #Facebook launches a new redesign and experience for Pages to include: - Followers over likes- Page News Feed- Easier nav- Task-based Admin controls- More#SocialChatter #SocialMedia #FacebookNews https://t.co/6dk9nZIilC pic.twitter.com/19NO6P79IK — Social Chefs (@socialchefs) January 6, 2021 A redesigned layout, so that it's easier to use Facebook Page likes become followers Dedicated News Feed for Pages to join conversations, trends and meet fans Easier navigation between profiles and Pages Task-based admin controls for Page roles Safety features to detect impersonators and more How Do I Get the New Facebook Page Redesign For 2021? The new redesign is starting to roll-out to Pages, and should be out to everyone in the coming months. In the meantime, it would be a good to review who has access to your Facebook Page in Settings and to also determine if there are people on your team that need full access to your Page, or just need individual tasks assigned to them. Why Does the Facebook Page Redesign Matter to My Business? On the surface, a lot of the new updates coming to Facebook Pages in 2021, seem like cosmetic changes. There are a few useful ones though. For example, instead of focusing on collecting likes, your business should focus on building a strong community on your Facebook Page, by getting them to follow your Page. This helps ensure they want to receive your updates that you publish. The Facebook Page redesign is also adding a separate News Feed for Pages. This is a great opportunity for your business to engage without selling in other communities. Remember, you shouldn't always jump right into trying to make a sale. Instead, some people want to know the people they are connecting with. Don't be afraid to engage as your Profile and then transition to your Page at some point, but not always immediately. Other Social Media News Mentioned Here are some additional social media news topics that we covered on our weekly live social media marketing talk show that are worth checking out. These are the tips that she shared. Facebook Page likes are now followers. Does this number matter? It is all about trust. When the audience gets to experience the real people behind the brand - they perceive it as more trustworthy. When those people also act as thought leaders, creating deeper connections between their personal story, their life's mission and the business they represent, the real magic happens. (Steve Jobs leveraged the power of his personal brand and media as a thought leader to build great trust and loyalty to Apple as a brand, but it was being inspired by his vision and wanting to belong to his tribe that contributed to a lot of business). It can be as simple as setting up your personal profile on Facebook to post some inspirational insights into your journey as an entrepreneur and behind the scenes details into your journey as an entrepreneur, while connecting to potential leads and decision-makers, building that personal connection that underpins so many big business decisions. How can a Facebook Page leverage the new News Feed for Pages in the Facebook Page redesign? This is where profile marketing really works on Facebook. Unlike other platforms where there is no separation between a place of business and a personal space, Facebook makes actively engaging with followers a little difficult for Business Pages. You cannot start the conversations. You cannot connect to potential leads, like on LinkedIn, but you can do it all from your personal profile and you can create a strategy where your personal profile. For example, Daniel Glickman, who was a CMO for Wave.video, built huge visibility with his personal profiles on social media (including his personal profile on Facebook) and his podcast connecting to influencers who could create collaborations and promote the product even more. He was extremely present in Wave.video's Facebook Group, connecting to members, creating livestreams and bringing valuable guests on for engaging interviews. He has since moved to StreamYard and can use the network he has already built to successfully raise awareness and generate more customers for the product.
