Facebook Live With

In Facebook news, they are rolling out Facebook Live With, which let's you add a guest to live videos.

Why Facebook Live With Matters For Your Business

Previously, you could only use Facebook Live video with one person.

If you wanted to have guests on, you needed to use third-party tools such as Wirecast (Mac | PC).

Now, anyone can use Facebook Live video and bring on a single guest through Facebook.

According to Facebook, "to invite a friend to join you in your live video, simply select a guest from the Live Viewers section, or tap a comment from the viewer you want to invite. Your viewer can then choose whether or not to join your broadcast. You can go live with a guest in both portrait mode (for a picture-in-picture experience) and landscape mode (for a side-by-side experience)."

As a business, this is great news because now you can use Facebook Live video to run a show with just you and your audience or conduct interviews.

Here is a short video showing you how to use Facebook Live With.

If you have additional questions about Facebook Live With, you can read more about it on the Facebook blog.

Facebook Live Chat With Friends

Also in Facebook news, they have rolled out Facebook Live Chat With Friends.

Why Facebook Live Chat With Friends Matters For Your Business

Facebook Live Chat With Friends is a new feature for Facebook Live videos.

This new feature will let you interact with only their friends or customers during a Facebook Live video broadcast.

This way you can have personal conversations in private during a Facebook Live video.

Previously, if we wanted to have a conversation, we had to open Facebook Messenger.

This wasn't always convenient, especially if we were on a mobile device.

By adding Facebook Live Chat With Friends, it's now easier to have those conversations while still being part of the wider community during a live video broadcast.

Right now, live chat with friends is being tested on mobile in a few countries, with a much broader rollout later this summer.

In the meantime, here's a video showing you how to use live chat with friends.

Pinterest Stats and Pinterest Lens For Recipes

In Pinterest news, they have added two new features, pin stats and Pinterest Lens for food.

Why Pinterest Pin Stats and Pinterest Lens For Food Matters For Your Business

Pinterest Pin Stats

Pinterest pin stats

The first update from Pinterest are new pin stats.

When you visit your Pinterest business profile, you'll see a new stats icon on each of your pins.

This will let you see a preview of the total engagements.

When you click on the stats, you can get additional details, such as how many times your pin has appeared on Pinterest.

One thing that is important to remember about Pinterest is that "your pins, like wine, get more valuable over time."

As a business, you'll want to make sure you have a dedicated image for your content.

This way when someone shares it, they have an image along with a description that you write with each pin from your site.

We recommend using using Social Warfare to help with this.

Pinterest Lens For Food

The second update from Pinterest this week is that they have updated Pinterest Lens to work with food.

What this means is that you can scan food and have Pinterest recommend recipes from the Food Network, Martha Stewart, and Epicurios.

Not only can you can food using Pinterest Lens, but you'll also get reviews along with recipes.

Here is an example of using Pinterest Lens to scan strawberries.

As a business, you should be excited about Pinterest Lens.

While this update is geared towards people in restaurants or retail, you can expect Pinterest will be expanding Lens to other industries in the future.

You can read the announcement about these new Pinterest announcements here.

Instagram Adds Location and Hashtag Stories to Explore

In Instagram news, they have introduced location and hashtag stories to the Explore section.

Why Instagram Location and Hashtag Stories Matter For Your Business

First up, Instagram has added stories to Explore that feature a location.

These types of stories come from people who used the location stickers in their stories.

Now when you are in a new location and you want to find stories related to where you're at, just look in the Explore section on Instagram.

You'll be able to see what is going on around you.

As a business owner, this is a valuable tool because you can see what other businesses are doing (if you need ideas).

If your stories get included, this can help broaden your exposure to new and existing customers using this feature.

A second feature Instagram introduced were hashtag stories.

This is what Instagram hashtag stories look like.

With hashtag stories, people can find stories related to their interests.

As a business, if you have your own hashtag, encourage your customers to use it on their Instagram posts.

This can help you generate more exposure.

"If your location story or hashtag story are added to Explore, you'll see a line at the top of your stories viewer. with how many people saw it in the larger story."

Another great thing about location or hashtag stickers, you can choose to now have your story appear on Explore.

Snapchat Custom Stories

In Snapchat news, they are rolling out custom stories.

Why Snapchat Custom Stories Matter for Your Business

With custom stories, you can now create stories on Snapchat for anyone, about anything, and for specific locations.

This is going to be a very promising feature for businesses because in addition to having more control over the stories you create, you can also Geofence them.

This will allow your business to limit a story to people who are just in a specific location.

For example, if your business puts on an annual event, your team could create Snapchat custom stories and Geofence them to just the people attending the event.

This will allow you to hit more of your target audience with your stories.

Here is a video showing you how to use Snapchat custom stories.

Also in #SocialMedia news today, #Snapchat is introducing custom stories.

Tools

In addition to sharing the latest news from this past week, we also highlighted some great social media tools and apps for you to check out.

Video Teleprompter

Video Teleprompter for iOS

The first tool we have for you this week is called Video Teleprompter (iOS).

For those of you venturing into recording videos for YouTube or an online video course you're creating, we know how difficult it can be to be natural on camera, without looking like you're reading your script.

It's no easy task.

Where Video Teleprompter can help is that it let's you overlay your notes via Google Drive, PDF, Microsoft Word, email and more.

While you're looking at the camera to record your video, you'll have your notes overlaid on the screen and it won't look like you're reading from a script that is positioned on one side of the camera.

This is a great tool to use to not only get you more comfortable on-camera, but also to help you make eye contact with the people watching your video content.

You can download Video Teleprompter from the link below.

Microsoft Office Lens

The next tool we wanted to share with you is called Microsoft Office Lens (iOS | Android).

How many of you have tried to take a photo during a presentation, only to have the photo turn out too dark or overexposed?

The same happens when trying to photograph a whiteboard full of notes.

Fortunately, Microsoft Office Lens can help you solve that problem and more!

Not only can it straighten a crooked photo, but it can help you quickly fix photos that are over or underexposed.

Another thing about Office Lens is that it can also scan business cards, documents and more.

You can download Microsoft Office Lens for free from the link below.
