Pinterest Board Notes

In Pinterest news, they have launched Pinterest board notes, along with the ability to add dates and see board suggestions.

These new features will make it easier for users to annotate their notes. For example, you can add a list of ingredients to a pinned recipe, incorporate step-by-step instructions for a how-to video and more. Keep in mind you can only have one board note per Pinterest board; however, you can add lists, create checklists or include specific pins to your Pinterest board notes.

Here is what Pinterest board notes look like.

Why Pinterest Board Notes Matter For Your Business

With more and more people staying home, Pinterest is adding features such as board notes, dates (for adding a date to a board and for project planning) and board suggestions to help you quickly find content.

Pinterest board notes in particular, should be especially useful if you are using Pinterest to surface some of your favorite how-to videos or recipes - that you can then teach to your own customers.

By having access to board notes, you can quickly reference your own notes . Maybe you word things differently than how others do?

To get access to board notes, update your Pinterest mobile app and then go to a board you want to add a note to and click on the "+" sign and then select the "notes" option.

Other Social Media News Mentioned

Here are some additional social media news topics that we covered on our weekly live social media marketing talk show that are worth checking out.

Live Video Confidence: How to Become More Confident On Camera

This week on our social media marketing talk show, we also invited Ian Anderson Gray to share tips on building your live video.

Here are the tips that he shared.

How Does Confidence On Live Video Translate to Success?

  • If you feel confident, you will keep at it.
  • Know your material. Don't try to take it until you make it.
  • Have a positive mindset.

How Can Someone Who Wants to Use Live Video Become More Confident On Camera?

  • Practice - use live video for non-business purposes before trying to use it for business.
  • Try and improve on every new live video you do (also works for pre-recorded video).

Should People Warm Up Before Going Live? Are there any voice exercises they can do?

Yes. Here is a routine I use called "Stretch, Shake, Wiggle, Jump."

  • STRETCH your arms UP to the ceiling and hold that position for 7 secs
  • SHAKE your arms to loosen up your shoulders and arms.
  • WIGGLE your legs
  • JUMP and down to loosen up your legs
  • STRETCH your arms OUT in front of you and hold that position for 7 secs
  • SHAKE your arms to loosen up your shoulders and arms.
  • WIGGLE your legs
  • JUMP and down to loosen up your legs
  • STRETCH your arms BEHIND you (stick your chest out) and hold for 7 secs
  • SHAKE your arms to loosen up your shoulders and arms.
  • WIGGLE your legs
  • JUMP and down to loosen up your legs

Tools

In addition to sharing the latest news from this past week, we also highlighted some great social media tools and apps for you to check out.

StreamTimer

The first tool that we have for you this week is StreamTimer.

Would you like to add a countdown timer to the beginning of your live videos? For example, maybe you want to start your show five minutes early?

StreamTimer makes it easy to create a countdown timer using a selection of pre-built templates.

If you are looking for other ways to create a countdown timer, consider Ecamm or higher end video editing applications such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere.

StreamTimer is free to use, requires no installation, and you do not need an Internet connection to run your video countdown timer.

Loola TV makes it easy to broadcast your live videos to multiple platforms .

You can use Loola free for up to 3 hours per month. If you want to remove the Loola watermark, plans start at $19 per month. They also offer Loola Pro for $39 per month, that adds in custom destinations over RTMP.
