I needed a small tripod for my Nebula Cosmos projector that I have in my living / TV room (which weighs 2kg). I actually used, for a few days, the smaller tripod from this same company (which is rated for 1kg). It actually worked perfectly. I was just scared about overloading it and my expensive projector falling. That smaller model uses a push button to rotate / secure the ball. This slightly larger unit uses a twist screw, which seems more stable and secure. This model is rated for 2.5kg; so, that makes me rest easier. I don't see much use for the extendable legs. But, this unit does seem to sit slightly wider, for a slightly more sturdy stance. For now, it seems great and I am happy with it. I don't plan to ever move it (unless I move; I have a portable projector for on the go use). Hopefully it provides years of use while I have this projector.

Easy to carry anywhere
Just got back from 2 week vacation and I never once used my full-size tripod. I was shooting with a Fuji X-T30 II (full size mirrorless camera), probably 2-3 lbs weight. This mini-tripod allowed me to do long exposures in churches, museums, etc. without being hassled and it was easy to set up and use. Granted, it's not easy to compose a shot when you're setting the camera 4 inches off the floor! But often I could set it on a railing or bench and--for example-- it was enough stabilization to get the shot inside Livraria Lello at1/8 second, f16. It may not be as good for really looooong exposures but I won't travel anywhere without it from now on.

I just received it, easy to unpack and understand the functionality. Ball head adjusts easily and locks function as they should. I have my Fuji xt20 on it with a 35mm and it could definitely handle more weight as it should. Perfect size tripod for upcoming trip to Seattle when you want to limit bulk. I love that the legs adjust individually for challenging shots. I give 5 stars unless I stumble across any issues I will be sure to update my review. **I even registered it for an extra 5 year warranty free of charge, you can't go wrong. I have the Manfrotto befree and love the quality.
