Instagram Direct Polls

In Instagram news, you can now run Instagram Direct Polls.

Why Instagram Direct Polls Matter For Your Business

How would you like to survey your customers on Instagram in private?

Instagram is rolling out the ability to run polls in Instagram Direct.

Here is what this looks like.

As a business, you may want to experiment with running Instagram Direct Polls to survey your customers.

Some of your customers may not want to publicly answer a poll on Instagram.

By adding the ability to run polls in Instagram Direct, you can quickly gather feedback from customers in a private manner.

For example,

To get this feature in Instagram, update your mobile app from your devices App Store.

Securing Your Instagram Account

Also this week, Instagram discussed how to secure your Instagram account.

Why Securing Your Instagram Account Matters For Your Business

Instagram is doubling down on security.

To help you secure your Instagram account, they are providing the following guidelines.

  • If you receive an email from Instagram about a change to your email address, but did not initiate this change, you can click a link to "revert this change" and then change your password.
  • Create a strong Instagram password
  • If you need to restore your Instagram account, be sure you use a secure email address
  • Revoke access to third-party Instagram apps

As a business owner, it is important to review your Instagram account on a regular basis to see who you give access to.

By following these guidelines, you can better secure your Instagram account and protect yourself.

LinkedIn Rebuilding LinkedIn Groups

In LinkedIn news, they are rebuilding LinkedIn Groups.

Why Changes To LinkedIn Groups Matter For Your Business

LinkedIn is rolling out a host of new updates to improve LinkedIn Groups.

These include: easier ways to access LinkedIn Groups, streamlining admin roles in Groups and managing LinkedIn Groups from mobile.

Easier Ways to Access LinkedIn Groups

First up, LinkedIn is making it easier to access LinkedIn Groups from your LinkedIn homepage and feed.

Streamlining LinkedIn Group Admin Roles

A second feature being added is streamlining the different roles for managing your LinkedIn Groups.

Now, you will have two options - owner and manage roles.

This way the LinkedIn Group roles are much less confusing.

Moderators will become regular members. If you need to have them still manage your Group, you can promote them to the manager role.

Manage LinkedIn Groups From Mobile

Another new feature from LinkedIn is the ability to manage LinkedIn Groups from mobile.

Previously, if you wanted to manage LinkedIn Groups, you had to try and use a mobile web browser. Now, LinkedIn is making the complete LinkedIn Group functionality available from the app.

This way you can manage LinkedIn Groups from anywhere.

Facebook Acquires Vidpresso

In Facebook news, they have bought Vidpresso.

Why Facebook Buying Vidpresso Matters For Your Business

Facebook has acquired Vidpresso, an interactive live video tool.

Vidpresso, which is used by companies such as Univision, BuzzFeed, Turner Sports, NBC, TED and more, has been bought by Facebook.

While terms of the deal were not disclosed, as a business owner, you should be excited about Vidpresso being acquired.

If you've wanted to make your Facebook Live videos more interactive, you had to rely on using third-party tools such as BeLive, Wirecast or Vidpresso.

Once the acquisition closes, you should be able to include things such as polls during your live video broadcasts.

This way you can survey your customers during your show to gather feedback to help improve what you offer to your customers.

We'll update you at a later date once this deal closes.

You can read more about Facebook buying Vidpresso here.

  • Hey, Christian!

I loved your podcast episode – great job! It seems like Instagram Polls are an amazing opportunity for social media managers across the world, especially in the B2C market for products. I’ve recently wrote more about this in a guest post here – https://subsign.co/stories/best-instagram-questions-to-ask/ and thought this may be useful to share with your audience (honestly, I’m not here to spam).
